Out-Patient Surgery Information

Before Surgery:

Please arrive at CRENSHAW AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTER  at the time given to you . If you are not certain of the arrival time, please call the facility the day before surgery.

The average stay – start to finish is approximately 1 – 1 1/2 hours.

Please have the pain medication given to you from your physicians office filled before the date of your procedure.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please notify CRENSHAW AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTER   as soon as possible.

The Day of Surgery:

Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing and flat shoes.

Bring a picture ID, insurance cards

Be sure to have an adult present to drive you home.

Leave valuables at home (rings, watches, jewelry, etc)

Do not wear contact lenses, makeup or nail polish.

Please do not bring small children who are not having surgery.

Recovery at the surgical facility:

Each person responds differently to surgery and the effect of anesthesia.  It is important to tell the nurse how you feel and any special concerns.  At the time of your discharge, you will be considered “home ready” meaning you are able to return home to rest.

Home-care instruction will be explained to you and you will be given a copy of these instructions prior to being discharged.

Recovery at Home:

To hasten your recovery, follow your home care instructions and call your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.

Fees and Financial Arrangements:

CRENSHAW AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTER  charges a facility fee for each surgical procedure performed by your surgeon.  You will also receive a separate bill from the anesthesiologist  as well as your physician.
